The position of Forklift Operator reports directly to the Operations Manager and or the State Manager, the position requires the ability to work day shift and the flexibility to work some overtime and some weekends.
The succesful applicant will be able to unload and load freight as instructed by management using a forklift, to enable the timely delivery both locally and interstate.
Specific duties include:
Driving forklift to facilitate the loading of local delivery drivers as directed by management;
Driving forklift to facilitate the loading of interstate trailers and containers as directed by management;
Inspecting forklift for safety, maintenance and defects before use;
Completing Vehicle Safety Report Book as instructed;
Adhering to company policies and procedures;
Obeying all safety regulations and guidelines;
Ensure loads are secured and maintained at all times;
Ensure that the forklift is cleaned weekly;
Report any damage to product or trucks, trailers, containers, racking and premises to management immediatedly;
Ensure company procedures are followed in the event of an accident.
The succesful candidate will have at least 6 months experience doing similiar and or like duties. It would be beneficial if the applicant had a first aid certificate, manual handling training and dangerous goods training however these are not essential.
The position pays $16.00 per hour for a 38 hour week, overtime is paid in accordance with statuatory guidelines.
